IntApp Announces Wall Builder Support for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007

Wall Builder 3.4 release further extends product’s centralized confidentiality management capabilities, enabling law firms to manage access controls for SharePoint client and matter sites

August 2008

PALO ALTO, Calif.--August 26, 2008--IntApp, Inc., the leading provider of risk management, time capture and integration software for the legal industry, today announced that it has extended Wall Builder, its information access control product, to secure and manage user access to SharePoint client and matter sites.

Wall Builder is a web-based confidentiality management application that enables organizations to centrally control, monitor and report on user access permissions across multiple applications including document management, accounting, CRM and records management systems.

Law firms must closely manage and track internal access to client information for many reasons. These include waiver-driven ethical screens, client outside counsel guidelines, and compliance with regulations such as SEC, SOX, HIPAA, ITAR and European Union Market Abuse and Privacy Directives.

Wall Builder from IntApp replaces distributed, ad hoc approaches to information security with a centralized solution that provides organizations with unprecedented capability and control over user access to specific applications, documents and other information. It’s the only product for law firms that delivers real-time enforcement while updating access rights in response to attorney behavior to ensure that policies are kept up to date automatically.

By using Wall Builder in conjunction with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, law firms will be able to deliver timely, accurate and relevant information to attorneys and staff, while minimizing the risk of individuals inadvertently accessing restricted materials or falling out of compliance with internal policies.

"As SharePoint becomes increasingly strategic to law firms, so too does the need to ensure that the right people have access to the right information," said John Guyer, IT Director, Hinckley, Allen & Snyder LLP. "Adding SharePoint security management capabilities to Wall Builder is a welcome enhancement to an excellent product. Not only does this reduce our firm’s risk profile, but it also provides a huge competitive advantage for us, as it allows our firm to quickly and efficiently deploy secure extranet sites for client collaboration."

"Law firms are increasingly using Microsoft SharePoint as a way to increase attorney productivity by providing them with a centralized view of client information," said Thad Jampol, CTO, IntApp. "By extending Wall Builder confidentiality controls to SharePoint, we’re helping law firms ensure that attorneys and staff can’t accidentally access client or internal firm information they shouldn’t."
